      From Doubt Clearing to Career Guidance – Tech Is The Potential Solution

      As 10th broads results are going to declare in month of May 2018. This is the time when race to highest marks, best stream and best subjects will soon start once board results are announced. Yet another round of ‘which stream to choose’ and ‘what all career options are available’ will be the topic of discussion in every house where students appeared for board exams this year.

      In this tug of war of science vs. commerce vs. humanities, it is important to let students and parents know the avenues that the streams offer. For Indian students, it is important to know that each stream offers a plethora of career opportunities.

      India has become the second largest market for digital learning after the US and is set to grow to USD 1.96 Billion and around 9.6 Million users by 2021. Talking about technology innovation in the education domain, new-age education companies have identified doubt- clearing as one of the most popular trends, especially during the examination season.

      Today there are learning apps for students studying in classes 5th to 12th along with those looking for career guidance which emphasizes on adaptive practice through machine learning algorithms. These apps personalise learning for students with different strengths, weaknesses and learning aptitudes and deftly guides them in their career choices.

      These platforms have witnessed that queries for doubts on chat have grown 4X in last 1 year. According to IIT alumni Zishaan Hayath and Hemanth Goteti, founders of Toppr, an edu-tech company, community at the platform has grown by 2X in last 1 year, the doubts have grown by 4X.

      “Toppr has identified this problem in light of Artificial Intelligence and bridging this gap by introducing advanced technology in the face of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to solve doubts. At present, over 15% doubts are solved by bots!” shared the duo.

      Another example from the education domain is Basicfirst, an aptitude-based, omnichannel training initiative for students in 6th to 12th. The platform offers comprehensive after-school training to students in both online and offline formats. Using a meticulously designed combination of classroom training, doubt clearing study plans, practice workbooks, live online classes, psychometric tests, rent tablets, and periodic workshops, BasicFirst offers personalized and effective teaching pedagogies to its students.

      “We reach out to students via chat, email, phone call, live video and Whatsapp. It also offers individual guidance to students and helps them solve their doubts faced during their course of study,” shared founder Randhir Kumar.

      Basicfirst is going to launch ‘Doubt-clearing’ on their platform on 21st May 2018 across India and world. The platform offers Live Chat session (9.30am to 9.30pm), Clear doubt on calls, Whatsapp chat etc.

      There are platforms that bring quality home tutors along with proprietary content (online & offline) to the doorstep of needy parents/students using technology as a key driver. These platforms combine the best of private tutoring with technology enabled learning for CBSE, ICSE & State Boards. It enables personalized learning for students and provides real-time progress updates to parents.

      Focusing on school-level students, Genext Students was initially a pure content delivery platform for students of CBSE and ICSE boards.           Learning a foreign language after Class 12 would be a great career move.
          You could consider careers in Tourism & Hospitality, Media or Teaching. You can also become a translator or interpreter.
