Developing characteristics and traits contributing to an all round personality defines Personality development. It is often mistaken as bettering only communication skill or sense of style. Personality development is an all round  and wholesome development of a person.

Personality Development is not an overnight process. It is a continuous process involving correct processes as following

  1. Imbibing Confidence

Confidence is the most important factor; it reflects character, attitude and passion.  Failure needs to handle with a sense of confidence of overcoming them to achieve success and one need to be confident one’s action and self to express a positive personality.

  1. Good Communication Skills

Proficiency in language which is lingua franca is mandatory for achieving a positive personality. To improve communication skill one must read and listen to quality information and material. The skill also is reflected in the way one speaks as choice of words, intonation and throw of speech. Think before you speak and keep your language simple.   A skillful communicator can win over people and adverse situations. So, bring clarity in your communication. As long as you have the command over any one language, that is enough for you to make your mark. Keep learning new words in that language, keep writing to ensure a flow of thoughts and interact with people who share your interests to learn the nuances of the language. Once you have much to contribute, learn how to talk about it with others. No one can read about or know everything, so it’s refreshing to learn from others those things we don’t have the time to about read ourselves.

  1. Improve your dressing sense

A very important facet of an attractive personality is the way you dress for the occasion.  It is important to know the importance of wearing the correct colours, shades, combination of dress that one wears. The way you carry yourself with your attire determines your personality, what you wear must fit your body contours, skin complexion and physical height.  Dressing sense thus plays a major role in personality and confidence development.

  1. Be Passionate

Passion determines your success and develops your personality. Giving a best shot to your work will make one confident to succeed. Passion brings in the will to succeed and enhances any personality.

  1. Improve Body Language

Body language is a testimony to evaluate a person’s confidence and personality. Gestures, non verbal actions and certain mannerisms may actually act as deterrents towards positive personality. Try and practise before a mirror the correct posture of not only walking but also the way you seat and where you keep your hands and feet. Be energetic and full of life wherever you go. Make sure you can light up the whole room, a group or a discussion with your presence. Whenever you meet someone, make sure you give them a firm handshake. This is not just limited to a handshake. Ensure that you sit erect, stand on both legs, keep your hands free and make eye contact with people when you interact. In short, mastering the body language would ensure people take you to be talented and smart. Your body language is the first word that someone hears when they meet you for the first time.

  1. Social Skill Development

Being introvert is least desirable and interacting in group discussions and one needs to participate in group discussions and seminars. Man is a social animal. One needs to adjust amongst a larger group of individuals. Look for opportunities, go to different events, participate in social gatherings and be proactive. Make the effort to meet new people especially those unlike you. It not only exposes you to different cultures and alternative ways of doing things, it broadens your horizons.

  1. Ability to Lead

A good leader always has a good personality. Managing, setting examples and expressing one’s self make a good leader. Express yourself and always do, what you say.

  1. Positivity

Need to sport a positive outlook towards everything. Using positive affirmations re-programs the brain to think more positive things. Think about what aspects of your personality you would like to make more positive than create a positive affirmation to go along with that

  1. Good Listener

Listening is the important part of communication. Presence of minds develops ability to listen. Be an active listener. There is nothing more appealing than having someone listen to you intently making you feel like you’re the only person in the world.

  1. Ability to learn or be a good student

Learn from mistakes of others and not repeat the mistakes. We tend to make many mistakes in our journey but these can be eliminated and you can move on.  Falling is not an issue, not getting up back is one. It is very important to fail in life in order to identify your limitations and to know what is not to be done.
