In Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, the B.Tech course in Aerospace Engineering was introduced in 1965. The vision of this department is to train students in the field of aeronautics. The department consists of excellent laboratories for learning aerodynamics, spacecraft structures and propulsion. The duration is 4 year and M.Tech. / M.Tech (dual) takes 5 years.

4. Madras Institute of Technology

 

The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees in aeronautical engineering like B.E. in Aeronautical Engineering and M.E. Aeronautical Engineering/ M.E. Aerospace Technology.

As per their website, Admission eligibility of Madras Institute of Technology is:

 

UG Eligibility

  • The Higher Secondary Examination of ( 12th) Curriculum (Academic Stream ) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as three or four subjects of the study prescribed under part III or any other examination of any university or authority accepted by the committee of the Anna University as equivalent thereto.
  • The eligibility criteria such as marks, number of attempts and Physical fitness shall be as prescribed by the committee of the Anna University from time to time.
  • The candidate should be less than 21 years as on first of July of the year of application . For candidates belonging to SC/ST the age limit is relaxable by three years.
  • Any other Examination of any other authority accepted by the syndicate of the Anna University as equivalent thereto.

 

PG Eligibility

  • For pursuing the master’s degree the candidates should have an existing degree in B.E. / B.Tech from a well-known university.
  • Eligibility conditions for admission such as class obtained, no of attempts in qualifying examination and physical fitness will be as prescribed by the committee of the University from time to time.
